Kaitlin Kindman LCSW (no. 82453) Co-Founder of Kindman & Co. in Los Angeles, specializing in support for couples, entrepreneurs, and therapists through relational advocacy and practice leadership

hello,

i’m a proud feeler of big feelings & believe that our human emotionality should be honored and celebrated.

I help humans who feel unseen or uninspired to connect with purpose & embrace who they truly are, so that they can live the authentic, joyful lives they long for.

About Kaitlin (she/her)

co-founder, Kindman & Co.

I co-founded Kindman & Co. to be a different kind of therapy practice. We center relationships and celebrate human messiness, while also working toward a more inclusive and just world.

My purpose is to help you come to believe that you are not alone, you belong, and you inspire; you have the power to create meaningful change in your life & relationships. I work with you to feelmore connected to yourself and others so that the way you live feels authentic, aligned, and supports both your relationships and the world around you.

therapy for chronic illness, self-worth, and living beyond productivity in highland park, los angeles

I work with couples and partners, therapists and helpers, creatives, leaders, and highly sensitive or neurodivergent people (including ADHD) who feel overwhelmed, under-supported, or disconnected from themselves or their relationships. Many of the clients I work with have been in therapy before and are looking for something deeper—something that helps things actually shift—not just be understood.

Together, we move toward feeling more seen, grounded, and aligned so that your relationships, work, and inner life feel more sustainable and nourishing. As that connection deepens, there is often more room not only for clarity and change, but also for joy, play, and a greater sense of aliveness.

I’m especially dedicated to supporting therapists, leaders, creatives, and business owners, and understand how these roles can invite insecurity, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, loneliness, and blurred boundaries between work and life. I want to help you build a more enriching way of living—one that isn’t defined by productivity, but by creativity, engagement, authenticity, and a deeper connection to yourself and others.

I identify as a long-time disabled person living with chronic illness, which has made me especially passionate about supporting others at any stage of their chronic illness or chronic pain journey. I understand the unique challenges of living a full life while navigating physical illness and pain, as well as the difficult journey of getting diagnosed and finding appropriate, compassionate care.

I have navigated my own medical trauma and am very familiar with the harms that can occur within the Western medical system. I’ve supported many clients in working through the trauma of seeking adequate care and the all-too-common pain of not being heard, validated, or believed by medical professionals.

As a Level Two trained Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, I integrate the wisdom of the body and our neurobiology to help you move through emotional pain or trauma stored in the body, support a highly sensitive and activated nervous system, and better understand your symptoms so you can live more fully and vibrantly, including with chronic illness.

Some of the ways we can work together include:

  • relationship and couples therapy focused on connection, security, and intimacy

  • navigating chronic illness, disability, and the emotional impact of medical trauma

  • unpacking self-worth shaped by productivity, over-functioning, and high responsibility

  • support for neurodivergence & highly sensitive people who feel deeply and absorb the emotions of others

  • identity, purpose, and alignment for creatives, leaders, and therapists

  • feeling stuck in therapy and wanting deeper, more embodied and effective change

  • building boundaries, authenticity, and a more connected relationship with yourself and others

therapist for couples, creatives, and highly sensitive leaders in los angeles

As a creative, leader, and Highly Sensitive Person, I enjoy supporting clients in creative fields and work with people who are often seen, needed, or relied on by others. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to maintain a strong sense of self when others project expectations onto you, and how this can leave you feeling misunderstood, isolated, or disconnected from who you actually are.

Many of the people I work with are trying just to stay open, connected, and engaged in a world that can feel overwhelming, unjust, or exhausting.

I’m dedicated to helping you gain clarity about who you are and what you stand for (not who you think you’re expected to be), so you can move toward greater authenticity, wholeness, and alignment in your work, relationships, and life.

I come to Kindman & Co. from a background in community mental health, where I primarily supported clients from marginalized communities, including BIPOCand LGBTQIA+ folks, in navigating systemic oppression, intersectional identities, and the desire for deeper connection and belonging. These experiences continue to inform my work with clients navigating racism, sexism, oppression, trauma, and the pressure to conform to both family and societal expectations.

Let’s help you untangle yourself from the expectations you’ve been handed, so you can more freely embrace and celebrate who you truly are.

relationship and couples therapy in los angeles

I. Love. Partners. As humans, we need each other, and we need relationships that feel secure, connected, and alive.

I work with couples who are deeply committed to each other, but find themselves stuck in painful patterns, whether that looks like: conflict that escalates quickly; avoiding hard conversations; or feeling alone in the relationship despite how much you care. Many of the couplesI work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and have tried to figure things out on their own, but still find themselves repeating the same dynamics.

As a Level Two PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy)Therapist, I focus on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface of your interactions—how your nervous systems, attachment patterns, and communication styles shape the way you relate to each other.

Together, we work toward helping you feel more secure, connected, and understood. You can learn how to navigate conflict in a way that brings you closer, support each other more effectively, and build a relationship that feels both stable and deeply fulfilling.

I especially enjoy working with couples who want to be intentional about their relationship, including those in newer partnerships, those preparing for long-term commitment, and those navigating cultural differences, chronic illness, or the complexities of building a life together.

I also love supporting partners who work or run a business together (I know a thing or two about this one!) and are trying to balance intimacy with shared responsibility.

I’m here to help you build a foundation where you can soothe, support, and truly understand each other. My hope is for you to come to trust that your relationship can hold the full complexity of your lives, not only when things are easy, but also when they’re hard.

You deserve a partnership where you feel like teammates, where intimacy and playfulness are possible, and where you know how to respond to each other’s needs.

Kaitlin works with clients throughout Northeast Los Angeles—including Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glassell Park, and nearby neighborhoods like Pasadena, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake—supporting couples and highly sensitive leaders in building more connected and authentic relationships.

business consultation, supervision, and trainings

As a dedicated therapist for therapists, I offer consultation, supervision, and trainings for clinicians and practice owners who want to build more sustainable, values-driven, and financially viable ways of working.

Running a private practice is also running a business, and many therapists find themselves overwhelmed, under-supported, or unsure how to align their work with their values while also growing a successful practice. I support you in developing systems, boundaries, marketing approaches, and structures that promote authenticity, enjoyment of your work, & meaningful impact.

I’m passionate about working with therapists and group practice owners who are committed to equity and social justice, and who want to build practices that challenge harmful systems while also supporting long-term growth and sustainability.

I also love supporting therapists navigating chronic illness, helping you create a practice that works within your (limited) capacity, supports your health, and allows you to continue finding purpose, sustainability, and fulfillment in your work.

career highlights & key trainings

i am…

I am a proud feeler of big feelings. I am an activist & feminist. I am an emotional risk-taker. I am a recovering perfectionist and over-worker. I am learning to call myself a leader.

I am disabled & neurodivergent—an HSP, ADHDer, chronic illness spoonie, & advocate.

I am a multicultural partnership navigator who grew up in a bicultural & interfaith household. I know the challenges of being frequently uprooted and recognizing how hard it was to be the little, nerdy “new kid,” while also appreciating the resilience it has afforded me.

I am an avid movie-goer and popcorn-eater, and I’m not ashamed of my love for 90’s rom-coms. I’m a DIY crafter, knitter, and connoisseur of all things tea. I’m a huge animal lover, and when I’m not working, you can usually find me in my happy place—cuddling on the couch with our pup, Weezie, and cats Dewey, Dusty, Kiki, and Bear…or unabashedly dancing in supermarket aisles.
