madison segarra
L.A. graduate student intern specializing in support for first responders, BIPOC, and neurodivergent folks
hello,
I believe that healing is more than easing pain—it’s also about reconnecting with the joys & possibilities life has to offer.
I help people go from being stuck in disempowering cycles to embracing their authentic identity with clarity and strength.
About Madison (she/her)
I’m training as a therapist because I believe there’s something powerful about being seen and supported exactly as you are.
In our work together, I want you to feel safe showing up messy, real, and fully yourself. I especially love sitting with people in those in-between moments—the big, confusing life shifts where everything feels up in the air. And I’m so excited to be interning with Kindman & Co., a practice that leads with heart, intention, and deep care.
I believe healing happens in relationships; through connection, curiosity, and the kind of self-understanding that makes you feel less alone. My goal is to create a space that feels supportive, affirming, and compassionate—one where you feel truly seen & understood.
As a proud Puerto Rican woman and the first in my family to seek out therapy and talk openly about mental health, I know how tender it can feel to step into this space for the first time. If you’re a fellow BIPOC person and maybe even a therapy first-timer, especially if you were raised in a family or culture where emotions were meant to be hidden, I want you to know: you belong here. Having personally witnessed the impacts of PTSD, addiction, racism, and colorism, I bring both lived experience and cultural awareness into the room. Together, we can work toward healing from racial trauma and systemic oppression, embracing the richness of your identity, and finding liberation in reconnecting with your emotional self.
I love working with teens and young adults navigating identity, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationships—and I especially enjoy holding space for LGBTQIA+ folks who are ready to embrace the fullness of who they are. I also enjoy supporting couples and partners navigating intersections of identity and change, helping you build more security, intimacy, and playfulness in your relationship.
Because I was raised in a family of first responders, and I share life with a healthcare worker, I feel deeply connected to supporting first responders, healthcare workers, and their families. I understand the unique stressors you carry, and I bring empathy and care into this work. As someone with ADHD, I also know the ups and downs of living with a neurodivergent brain, and I’m here to help other neurodivergent folks embrace your wiring, celebrate your strengths, and even find joy in all your quirks.
I especially love working with people who are questioning or redefining their identity—whether personal, relational, or cultural—as you figure out what it means to live more fully and authentically. And if you’re feeling stuck in dating, relationships, or “situationships,” I want to help you move toward clarity, self-worth, and confidence in love.
My purpose as a therapist is to hold space for you exactly as you are. I want you to feel safe being honest, vulnerable, and fully human. I’m committed to creating spaces where BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent folks—as well as anyone who has ever felt othered or out of place—can feel seen, valued, and empowered to embrace their full humanity. My greatest hope is to help you move from cycles shaped by oppression or self-doubt into living more authentically—with clarity, strength, and a sense of joy in who you are.
Whether you’re figuring out who you are, what you want, or noticing patterns that no longer serve you, we can explore it all together with curiosity, compassion, and care.
quality reduced-fee counseling
What drew me to Kindman & Co. was the team’s commitment to showing up with authenticity, compassion, and care—values that feel deeply aligned with my own. I’m especially excited to offer reduced-fee therapy in Los Angeles for people who are figuring out who they are, how they want to connect, and what healing can look like on their own terms.
Kindman & Co. is rooted in the belief that individualized, relational therapy should be accessible to our NELA community. I feel honored to provide this care, especially for those who might otherwise face financial barriers to accessing therapy.
I truly believe we’re not meant to figure everything out on our own. We all need supportive relationships to help us grow into more of who we want to be. In our work together, I aim to create a space where you can show up messy, complicated, and real—and still feel fully welcomed. I look forward to walking alongside you in this process.

i am…
I am a proud Puerto Rican woman and the first in my family to openly seek therapy and talk about mental health. I embrace big feelings and see them as powerful teachers. Growing up with a 9/11 first responder parent and partner of a healthcare worker, I carry both the weight and pride of that legacy. My years as a nanny have given me deep experience supporting families and couples through life’s transitions. I’ve also been shaped by my background as an athlete and martial artist, which taught me to value courage, resilience, and the mind-body connection. I’ve witnessed the impacts of PTSD, addiction, racism, colorism, and family separation, and I’m committed to creating a space where people feel seen, safe, and empowered to explore the full complexity of being human.
In my spare time, you can usually find me at the gym working on weight training and calisthenics, hiking a new trail, exploring museums, diving deep into historical events, or baking something sweet in the kitchen.
