individual therapy

Life can feel overwhelming, whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, identity questions, or relationship struggles. In individual therapy, we’ll explore the roots of your distress and how even painful experiences can become pathways to greater meaning and connection.

Our approach is relational and socially aware—we consider both your inner world and the impact of systemic forces that may have distanced you from your authentic self. Together, we’ll build skills for managing big feelings, practice more empathic communication, and reconnect you with your purpose, community, and sense of belonging.

intimate relationship & couple therapy

We work with relationships at every stage—whether you’re just beginning to partner, navigating long-term commitment or marriage, exploring alternative formations, or moving through separation. We support couples, partners, families, and families-of-choice in deepening intimacy, improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, and working through impasses or betrayals. Together, we’ll help you cultivate compassion, gain clarity about each person’s needs, and build a more secure, nourishing connection.

Relationship therapy can be with a single therapist or with The Kindmans in co-therapy. In co-therapy, both Kaitlin and Paul meet with you and your partner(s), offering a balanced dynamic that fosters equality, builds trust, and brings multiple perspectives to your relationship work.

group therapy

At Kindman & Co., we believe it’s essential that we have connection and trust that we belong. We are here to help you grow a thriving, nourishing community for yourself and one of the most powerful ways we do this is through group therapy. Our groups foster vulnerability, curiosity, and empathy, while celebrating the diversity of experiences each member brings.

In a supportive community setting, you’ll practice skills for managing big feelings, strengthen your relational capacities, and build intimacy that extends beyond the group into other areas of your life. Group therapy is both a place to grow individually and to experience the healing power of community.

therapy for trauma & ptsd

Unprocessed trauma lives inside of you. Whether you witnessed or experienced a traumatic event recently or long ago, your mind and nervous system may still be carrying its impact—sometimes showing up as heightened reactivity or a sense of being “on edge.”

When our basic needs for care and love are consistently unmet, complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), sometimes called relational trauma, can also develop. This often-invisible form of trauma can deeply affect the intimacy, trust, and nourishment we feel in relationships.

Healing trauma therapy supports both mind and body in recovery—helping you reclaim a sense of ease, foster deeper connection in your relationships, and rediscover joy in your daily life.

political stress & climate anxiety therapy

Did you know that over 2/3 of adults report that election cycles and the political climate are significant sources of stress in their lives? If you can relate, we can too.

We know that more people are experiencing increased overwhelm and anxiety over the climate crisis and the future of our world which is bringing up existential dread, concerns around big life decisions like starting a family, having a sense of purpose and meaning, and more. Our team of therapists understands the complex difficulty of grappling with political stress and climate change anxiety and is here to help you build tools for more stability and to identify actions you can take to feel more in control.

macbook, phone, and coffee ready for telehealth

telehealth online therapy sessions

We know that many of our clients are busy and getting away from their daily schedule (not to mention struggling through L.A. traffic) to visit our office may not always be a stress-reducing option. We also know that some folks in other parts of California want to get to work with our practice and benefit from our relational, social justice-informed approach.

This is why we’re happy to offer telehealth therapy sessions through a secure, online, video conferencing platform. You can sit down and chat with one of our therapists face-to-face, and you never have to leave the comfort of your home or office.

clinical supervision & private practice business consultation

We know that therapists are human first—this means that we need help and support like everybody else! We are passionate about helping therapists become more confident and comfortable in their work and build supports for healthy boundary setting and self-care. As relational therapists with a social-justice orientation, we support therapists to more fully embrace their humanity, create sustainability, and incorporate an inclusive, anti-oppressive stance into all facets of their practice.

We didn’t go to school to be business owners, right? Our supervision and consultation services can help you feel the most emotional reward from your work while also building practice systems that support you best. We work with associate-level clinicians in supervision and solo and group practice owners for business consultation.

Workshops, Retreats & clinical Trainings at Kindman & Co.

Therapy for Being Human doesn’t stop at the therapy room. We know life is busy and not everyone is ready—or interested—in starting therapy, which is why we also offer a variety of lower-commitment ways to engage with our work.

Our workshops, retreats, and clinical trainings create accessible, short-term opportunities to connect with yourself, others, and community. These experiences weave together relational, feminist, embodied, and social-justice-informed practices to support healing, growth, and connection. They’re designed for both community members seeking personal growth and for therapists/helping professionals who want to deepen their clinical skills through advanced relational training.

If you’ve been curious about relational therapy, embodiment-based practices, or simply want new spaces for learning and self-care, our offerings might be just the fit you’re looking for.
