As much as our schooling and clinical training prepared us to be therapists, it didn’t teach us how to be business owners or marketing strategists, right?! Building a thriving private practice is SO much more than clinical work and consultation—it’s marketing, social media management, website pages, building networks, branding, fee-setting, getting clients, managing expenses, and more. But it’s not just executing all of these activities and tasks, it’s also coming up against our own vulnerable fears & insecurities; complex relationships to money, helping, and social justice; and our sense of our own value and self-worth. How many times have you asked yourself: Am I even cut out to own a practice? or Am I defrauding all of my clients into thinking I’m a real therapist? or even, Am I allowed to make a living being a therapist when I went into this career to help people?

The Private Practice for Beginners Group is for you if you:

  • are preparing to launch your own private practice and feeling like you have no idea where to start

  • have recently started a private practice and are feeling overwhelmed or unsure about your ability to run your own business

  • are making a pivot into private practice or interested in moving from a solo practice into group practice ownership and aren’t even sure what “group practice” really means?

  • are struggling to feel confident about your value and worth as a therapist and business owner

  • are feeling excited about the freedom and empowerment that you’ve heard are available to you in private practice, but haven’t quite found yet

  • are feeling underwater, overworked, and on the verge of burnout

  • are unsure about the values of your business and/or how to incorporate values-aligned business practices

  • feel anxious about building a business model that will support and sustain you for many years to come

  • wonder about how to manage your practice AND have time for yourself and other essential priorities

  • feel overwhelmed, fearful, or icky about money and are questioning how to build a practice that supports you AND serves your desired clients

  • don’t know who your ideal clients are or how to attract them to your practice

  • notice increasing frustration, self-criticism, or shame around your capability and capacity as a therapist and business owner

  • feel alone in private practice and want to build more community for yourself

  • want to feel more reward and joy from running your own business

  • find yourself frequently thinking: “does everyone else know how to do this but me?”

Launching or growing a sustainable and enjoyable private practice requires thinking creatively and strategically, clarifying your own values and goals, embracing imperfections, and collaborating with others who really get it. The Private Practice for Beginners group is here to help you do just that.
