Therapy that helps you move from just ‘getting through’ to feeling like yourself again.

At Kindman & Co., we don’t look for what’s "wrong" with you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, or a major life transition, we see your struggle as a meaningful response to a demanding world.

Our goal is to help you move from getting through your days to feeling fully present in them.

Therapy That Feels Like a Real Relationship

Not cold. Not one-sided. Not just advice.

We pay attention to how you show up in the room together, so you can notice your patterns in real time and try new ways of relating that actually carry into your everyday life.

More Honest, Less Exhausting Relationships

Stop overthinking every interaction or trying to be who you “should” be.

You’ll get clearer on what you actually need, how to communicate it, and how to stay connected in your relationships without abandoning yourself.

It Doesn’t Have to Feel So Heavy All the Time

Yes, we talk about hard things. And we also make space for humor, relief, and moments where you can actually breathe.

Feeling more like yourself often includes being able to laugh and play again.

Your Story Makes Sense in Context

We look at the systems, relationships, and environments that shaped you, not just your symptoms.

That means less self-blame and more clarity about why you are the way you are, and what you want to change moving forward.

Move Beyond Just Getting Through the Day

This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about expanding your capacity for joy, connection, and choice.

So you can rely less on “pushing through” and more on feeling supported by yourself and the people in your life.

Individual therapy is a space to slow down, unlearn the "shoulds," feel fully seen, and reconnect with your own voice so you can show up more authentically in your life.

Counseling here is warm, collaborative, and deeply human—you’ll be met with honesty, curiosity, and care, with space for both hard things and moments of lightness.

If you're ready, we can help you find a therapist who feels like the right fit for you.

What to Expect: Getting Started Should Feel Easy

Finding a therapist shouldn’t feel like extra work. We know how exhausting it is to “interview” therapists, only to realize they don’t truly understand your lived experience. Our process is designed to protect your energy and help you find the right fit from the start.

1. A Free Match Call

Start with a free 15–20 minute call with our Care Coordinator, Clarissa, who’s an expert in helping you find the therapist who fits your needs, personality, and lived experience.

This is a no-pressure conversation to see if our practice feels right for you. If it does, we’ll guide you to the next step. If not, that’s completely okay too.

2. Intentional Pairing

We don’t just match based on availability. We consider personality, training, and your unique context to pair you with someone who truly resonates.

You don’t have to carry the burden of finding the right fit on your own.

If it doesn’t feel like the right fit after your first session, we’ll support you in finding a better match within our practice, so you don’t have to start your search all over again.

3. Your First Session

Because we’ve done the work of matching, you don’t have to spend your first session explaining everything from the beginning.

You can show up exactly as you are and start where it matters.

You Deserve Care That Actually Fits.

You don’t have to shrink, over-explain, or perform here.

We work with people who are used to holding a lot, including highly sensitive folks, LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC and neurodivergent clients, creatives, high achievers, and those navigating major life transitions.

You don’t have to go it alone. We’re here to help.

What makes therapy here different

Your experience makes sense in context.

For many people—especially those navigating marginalization, chronic stress, or systems that weren’t built for them—patterns like overthinking, self-doubt, or staying on high alert aren’t flaws. They’re understandable adaptations.

When what you’re carrying is understood in context, it becomes easier to step out of self-blame and reconnect with yourself more fully.

HOW WE WORK

Relational, Not Clinical
We believe healing happens in connection. Therapy here is collaborative, human, and grounded in your real life.

Real Humans, Not Blank Slates
Our therapists show up authentically. You won’t be met with distance or neutrality, but with presence, care, honesty, and a little bit of our own human messiness.

Depth, With Room for Lightness
We make space for hard things and for humor and levity. We believe play and lightness are part of feeling more alive again.

You Are the Expert on You
We center your lived experience and move at your pace, with attention to power, safety, and choice.

An Explicit Stance
We are an anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, and anti-racist practice.

Common Questions About Starting Therapy

Are you located near me?

If you’re looking for a relational therapist near you, our Highland Park (90042) office is a convenient option for clients across Northeast Los Angeles, especially in Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Glassell Park, and surrounding areas.

We also offer telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in California.

Will I have to explain my identities to my therapist?

No. We match you with therapists who already understand intesectional identity and are interested in getting to know all of you.

Our team includes therapists who are BIPOC, queer, disabled, and from a range of lived experiences. All of our clinicians are affirming, anti-oppressive, and experienced in working with clients who hold multiple marginalized identities.

We take your preferences into account during the match process. You won’t need to educate your therapist or start from “Identity 101.” You can begin where you are.

What if I don’t know what I want to work on?

You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting. Many people come in with a general sense that something feels off, overwhelming, or stuck. Therapy is a space to explore that together, at your pace.

What if I’m nervous to open up?

That’s completely normal and to be expected! You don’t have to share everything right away. We move at your pace, and part of the work is building enough trust and safety for you to feel comfortable over time.

How soon can I start therapy sessions?

We know that when you're ready to start, you're ready now! Once you complete your Match Call with our Care Coordinator, we can usually move quite quickly—often getting you scheduled for your first session with your affirming, relational therapist within the week.

What if I don't feel like the therapist is the "right fit"?

Finding the right fit matters. It’s part of our right fit commitment to you.

If after your first session it doesn’t feel like the right connection for any reason, just let our Care Coordinator know. We’ll thoughtfully rematch you with another therapist, without judgment. Your first session with them is on us, so you won’t have to start your search all over again.

Your comfort, trust, and sense of safety come first.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Most people begin with a free match call. It’s a simple way to see how this feels and find the right therapist for you.
