Individual Therapy in Highland Park, Los Angeles
Support for the deep feelers, the high achievers, and humans navigating the "heavy stuff.”
you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.
If you're navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, or a difficult life transition, it can start to feel like something is wrong with you.
We’re not interested in fixing you—there’s nothing wrong with you.
You’re navigating a world that asks a lot of us. Many of the ways you learned to cope made sense at the time, but they may not be working the way they used to.
Therapy can help you understand what you're carrying, shift how you relate to yourself and others, and find new ways to move through it.
At Kindman & Company, our therapists show up as real humans, not blank slates.
Warm. Honest. Validating. Always in your corner.
We’re a queer and trans-affirming therapy practice in Highland Park, Los Angeles, committed to helping you move beyond survival and toward a life that fully feels like yours.
A free 15–20 minute call with our care coordinator. No pressure, no commitment.
Individual therapy that honors your full humanity.
At Kindman & Co., we don’t look for what’s "wrong" with you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, or the weight of a major life transition, we see your struggle as a meaningful response to a demanding world.
Our goal is to help you move from just "getting through" to feeling fully alive.
Here’s how our relational approach creates real change in your daily life:
Relational Over Clinical
Therapy here isn't a "treatment plan" for a diagnosis; it's a collaborative relationship. We focus on the "here and now—the patterns and ways of relating that show up in the room—so you can practice showing up more authentically in your life outside of it.
Better, More Honest Relationships
We help you move past the "shoulds" so you can be genuinely yourself with the people you love. We’ll work together to help you identify what you actually need from your relationships and find ways to get those needs met without the guesswork or the burnout, so you can leave with practical ways to ask for what you need and feel more connected to the people who matter.
Room for Play & Levity
Healing is heavy work, but it doesn’t have to be humorless. We incorporate playfulness and a bit of wit into our sessions because we believe that being able to laugh and find lightness—even amidst the "disasters"—is a vital part of feeling alive again.
Context is Everything
We look beyond personal history to the systems, cultures, and environments shaping your world. We help you understand how your coping strategies likely made sense for your survival, while creating space for you to choose new ways of being that feel more aligned with your values.
From Survival to Aliveness
Our work isn't about "fixing" what feels wrong. It's about expanding your capacity for joy, connection, and purpose. We’re here to help you move past chronic self-reliance so you can learn to be supported, and support yourself, with more intention and ease, so you can stop just 'getting through' the day and start feeling a genuine sense of choice and purpose.
Individual therapy is a space to slow down, unlearn the "shoulds," and reconnect with your own voice to become more authentically you.
Therapy here is warm, collaborative, and deeply human.
Sessions often include honesty, curiosity, playfulness, and sometimes cursing, alongside space for hard things.
We focus on understanding you and helping you feel fully seen, affirmed, and supported in your life and relationships.

What to Expect: An intentional Start for Healing
Finding a therapist shouldn’t feel like extra work. We know how exhausting it is to "audition" therapists only to feel like they don't truly get your lived experience or the context of your life. We designed our process to protect your energy and ensure a right fit from the jump.
1. The Free Match Call
We protect your journey from the start. Instead of you spending time and money "retelling" your story to see if someone is a fit, you’ll start with a free 20-minute chat with our Care Coordinator. Think of them as your advocate—they understand the nuances of our team’s various personalities and areas of expertise. Their goal is to find the clinician who truly resonates with your specific needs and relational style.
2. The Thoughtful Pairing
Expertise meets human connection. We don't just look at who has an open spot on their calendar. We strategically pair you with a therapist whose personality, specialized training, and understanding of your unique background align with yours. We take the guesswork out of finding "the one," so you don't have to carry the burden of the search alone.
3. Your First Session
Move past the "History Lesson." Because we’ve done the heavy lifting of the match, you don’t have to spend your first hour just justifying your choices or explaining the basics of your world. You can arrive exactly as you are—seen, affirmed, and ready to focus on your actual growth at your own pace.
You Deserve Care That Actually Fits.
We know what it's like to walk into a professional space and feel like you have to shrink, over-explain, or perform. That's not what we're here for.
We specialize in working with:
Deep Feelers & Highly Sensitive People navigating an overwhelming world.
LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, & Neurodivergent folks seeking identity-affirming, social justice-oriented care.
Therapists & Healing Professionals ready for a space where they can be supported.
Creatives, Entrepreneurs, & High Achievers balancing pressure of ‘making it’, creative energy, and their emotional wellbeing.
People with Chronic Illness & Disability seeking care that understands the reality of navigating a world (and a medical system) not built for them.
Millennials & Young Adults navigating big transitions, career burnout, and the pressure of "figuring it out" while the world feels heavy.
People in Transition navigating grief, career shifts, or relationship changes.
Individuals in expansive relationship structures, including CNM and polyamory.
Those who are used to holding space for everyone else and are finally ready for a space of their own.
You don’t have to go it alone. We’re here to help.

— AHWhat makes therapy here different
We understand your experience in context.
For many of us—especially queer, trans, and non-binary folks, BIPOC, and those navigating chronic illness or disability—moving through a world that questions your safety, your legitimacy, or your capacity can quietly shape how you see yourself. You may find yourself bracing for harm, doubting your instincts, or wondering whether you’re "too much" when you’re not.
This kind of constant vigilance affects how you relate to yourself and others. Staying on alert, second-guessing your needs, or feeling worn down in ways that are hard to explain aren't character flaws. They're adaptive responses to systemic harm and the messages we absorb simply by moving through everyday life.
There is nothing wrong with you. When what you're carrying is understood in context, it becomes easier to step out of self-blame and reconnect with yourself more fully.
HOW WE WORK
We're a relational practice. We believe healing happens in connection, not in isolation.
Real Humans, Not Clinical Robots: Our therapists show up authentically. No blank-slate neutrality here—just real people genuinely committed to your well-being and your liberation.
Depth with a Touch of Levity: Sessions often include honesty, curiosity, and sometimes humor. We believe that being able to laugh, even while holding the "heavy stuff," is a vital part of feeling alive again.
You are the Expert: We work collaboratively, paying attention to power and safety. We center your lived experience rather than positioning the therapist as the "expert" on your life.
An Explicit Stance: We are not a "politically neutral" practice. We stand firmly against racism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, and all forms of oppression.
We are based in Highland Park in Northeast Los Angeles—a neighborhood we love and are deeply rooted in.
