Reduced fee therapy without reduced care.

Affordability can make finding a therapist complicated. You might find someone who seems like a great fit, only to realize their fee isn’t sustainable. Or you may find a lower-cost option but wonder whether you’ll have to compromise on the kind of therapy or relationship you’re looking for.

We don’t believe reduced fee should mean reduced investment in your care.

At Kindman & Co., reduced fee therapy isn’t something we reserve only for interns or newer clinicians. Every therapist on our team offers reduced fee spots, giving you access to therapists across different licensure levels, specialties, and years of experience.

We intentionally reserve 20% of our practice-wide caseload for reduced fee therapy because financial accessibility is part of our commitment to showing up for the community we’re a part of here in Highland Park and Northeast Los Angeles.

Affordable therapy with our graduate interns

Lower fees can also be a really good way to begin therapy.

Our graduate interns offer some of our most affordable therapy options while completing advanced clinical training under the supervision of our most-experienced Kindman & Co. clinicians.

And they’re not doing this work alone. Interns receive ongoing supervision, training, and support while learning our relational, trauma-informed, identity-affirming approach to therapy.

We reserve 40% of our graduate interns’ caseloads for reduced fee spots.

Graduate intern full fees:

  • Individual therapy: $80 for a 50-minute session

  • Couples & relationship therapy: $95 for a 60-minute session

  • Additional reduced fee spots: $50-$60, available on a limited basis

For many people looking for compassionate, affordable therapy in Los Angeles, working with a Kindman & Co. graduate intern can make consistent therapy financially possible without giving up the support of an established group practice.

Therapy in Highland Park that makes room for more of you.

Lower-cost therapy doesn’t have to mean one-size-fits-all therapy.

Our work is grounded in relational therapy, which means we’re interested in you as a whole person and in the relationships, identities, histories, communities, and systems that have shaped your experience.

Depending on who you work with, therapy might include support around anxiety, relationships, trauma, grief, identity, life transitions, family dynamics, neurodivergence, chronic illness, LGBTQIA2S+ experiences, or simply figuring out what you want your life and relationships to look like.

You don’t need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before reaching out. That’s part of what our match process is for.

Find affordable therapy that actually feels like a fit.

Schedule a complimentary 15–20 minute match call with our Care Coordinator, Clarissa.

Tell us a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, what kind of therapist might help you feel comfortable to do meaningful work, and what fee is realistically sustainable for you.

We’ll help you explore the options currently available, whether that’s a reduced fee opening with one of our therapists or affordable therapy with a graduate intern.

Common Questions About Affordable & Reduced Fee Therapy

Begin Your Healing

If you're ready to move out of survival mode and into deeper connection, with yourself and others, we’re here.

What to expect in therapy

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you are used to being the helper, the competent one, or the person who makes things easier for everyone else.

You don’t need the perfect explanation

You can arrive uncertain, conflicted, skeptical, angry, tearful, numb, or unsure where to begin. We will help you find a starting point together.

You set the pace

We believe that therapy should not require you to disclose before you feel ready or move toward a predetermined version of healing. We collaborate with you, check in about what is and is not working, and respect your right to make choices about your care.

We connect practical change with deeper understanding

Sessions may include identifying patterns, practicing boundaries, preparing for difficult conversations, understanding triggers, or finding ways to regulate overwhelm. We also make space for the deeper histories, relationships, and systems that give those patterns meaning.

The relationship itself matters

You’re welcome to tell us when something lands, when it doesn’t, when you feel misunderstood, or when the work needs to change direction. Repair is an integral part of relationship, not proof that the relationship has failed.

You don’t have to become less complex to feel better

Therapy can help you hold contradiction: strength and tenderness, anger and care, grief and relief, belonging and difference. You do not have to choose one tidy identity or emotion to be worthy of support.
