When you don’t have to spend energy managing your therapist’s comfort or translating your experience, something shifts. There’s more room to actually be yourself.
That’s what affirming therapy makes possible. It’s not just a space where your identities are tolerated, but one where they’re genuinely understood and celebrated as essential aspects of who you are.
Here, your relationships, your community, and your way of loving and being loved are held with curiosity and care, not treated as complications to work around.
We believe that when queer and trans folks feel truly seen, something opens up. The parts of yourself you’ve kept smaller, the relationships you want to show up more fully in, the life you’ve been building toward. There’s more access to all of it, and to all of you.
Therapy here isn’t about helping you cope with who you are.
It’s about helping you live more fully and more authentically as yourself, in the relationships and communities that matter to you.
What our team can support you with:
Exploring your identity or coming out
Navigating gender identity and transition
Queer relationships and nontraditional structures
Family dynamics and chosen family
Anxiety, burnout, and minority stress
Religious trauma and identity conflict
Sex, intimacy, and body connection
Life transitions and building a life that fits you
Whatever you’re navigating, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
What makes therapy here different
We understand your experience in context.
For many queer, trans, and nonbinary folks, moving through a world that questions your safety, your legitimacy, or your right to exist can shape how you see yourself. You may find yourself bracing for harm, doubting your instincts, or wondering whether you’re asking for too much.
This kind of constant vigilance can affect how you relate to yourself and others. Staying on alert, second-guessing your needs, or feeling worn down in ways that are hard to explain aren’t character flaws. They’re adaptive responses to systemic harm and the messages many people absorb just by moving through everyday life.
There is nothing wrong with you. When what you’re carrying is understood in context, it becomes easier to step out of self-blame and reconnect with yourself more fully.
HOW WE WORK
Relational, Not Clinical
We believe healing happens in connection. Therapy here is collaborative, human, and grounded in your real life.
Real Humans, Not Blank Slates
Our therapists show up authentically. You won’t be met with distance or neutrality, but with presence, care, honesty, and a little bit of our own human messiness.
Depth, With Room for Lightness
We make space for hard things and for humor and levity. We believe play and lightness are part of feeling more alive again.
You Are the Expert on You
We center your lived experience and move at your pace, with attention to power, safety, and choice.
An Explicit Stance
We are an anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, and anti-racist practice.

What to Expect: Affirming Care Without Having to Explain Yourself
Finding a gay therapist or queer-affirming therapist shouldn’t feel like extra work. We know how exhausting it is to “interview” therapists, only to realize they don’t truly understand your lived experience. Our process is designed to protect your energy and help you find the right fit from the start.
1. A free match call
Start with a free 15–20 minute call with our Care Coordinator, Clarissa. She understands the nuances of queer and trans-affirming care and will help connect you with a therapist who truly fits.
This is a no-pressure conversation to see if our practice feels right for you. If it does, we’ll guide you to the next step. If not, that’s completely okay too.
2. Intentional pairing
We don’t just match you based on availability. We thoughtfully pair you with a therapist whose personality, relational style, and lived understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ identities align with yours.
You don’t have to carry the burden of finding the right fit on your own.
If it doesn’t feel like the right fit after your first session, we’ll support you in finding a better match within our practice, so you don’t have to start your search all over again.
3. Your first session
Because we’ve done the work of matching, you don’t have to start with “Identity 101.” You won’t need to explain your pronouns, your relationships, or the context of your lived experience.
You can arrive as you are, ready to focus on your healing at your own pace.
You deserve care that actually fits.
We know what it’s like to walk into a therapy space and feel like you have to shrink, explain, or perform. That’s not what we’re here for.
We work with:
LGBTQIA2S+ folks navigating identity, coming out, and self-discovery
Trans and nonbinary people seeking affirming care without having to justify their existence
Queer people unlearning shame and reconnecting with pride and self-trust
BIPOC and queer folks holding multiple marginalized identities
People navigating chosen family, community grief, and collective trauma
Queer relationships, including CNM, polyamory, and expansive structures
Those who are used to holding space for everyone else and are ready for a space of their own
There’s nothing wrong with you—your distress makes sense in a world that doesn’t treat everyone with the same care or dignity.
You don’t have to keep doing this alone.
Get paired with your best fit therapist by booking your free match call.
