caregivers Therapy Group —
Free Info Session

For people caring for loved ones
while quietly holding everything else together

Learn if Making Room is a fit for you.

Making Room is a bi-weekly therapy & support group that meets virtually for caregivers who are holding a lot — emotionally, practically, and relationally — and want a space for honest conversation, shared understanding, and support that goes beyond “just take care of yourself.”

What to expect next

Step one is a free, 15–20 min call with our Care Coordinator.
On the call we’ll:

  • Answer your questions

  • Share more details about the caregivers group

  • Make sure this feels aligned for you before moving into a more formal intake

what the Group is like

Every caregivers group meeting looks a little different, but most people come in carrying some version of the same things: exhaustion, worry, responsibility, guilt, grief, frustration, or the feeling that they’re holding everything together for everyone else.

During Making Room, we talk about whatever’s showing up in your life — the big things, the small things, the complicated things, the things you don’t usually say out loud because you’re focused on getting through the day or taking care of others. Some weeks the conversation is deep; some weeks it’s lighter.

There’s no “right” way to show up.

You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a crisis to be here. This is a space to be honest, not perform or explain yourself.

THIS GROUP IS FOR CAREGIVERS WHO WANT:

  • Real conversation and connection, not fixing or advice-giving

  • Space to talk about stress, responsibility, resentment, guilt, or grief

  • Support navigating the emotional weight of caring for someone else

  • Connection with others who understand what it’s like to be “the strong one”

Many caregivers come simply because they’re tired of doing this alone.

making room F.A.Q.

  • Yes — this is a therapist-facilitated group that draws from clinical training and experience. At the same time, it’s designed to feel human, relational, and supportive rather than clinical or diagnostic.

You don’t need to come in with a treatment goal or a specific issue. Many caregivers join simply because they’re carrying a lot and want a place to talk honestly with others who understand.

  • No. The free info session is a chance to ask questions, learn more about the group, and get a feel for whether this support fits your life right now.

There’s no expectation to join — many people use the call simply to gather information or clarify what they need.

  • No. You don’t need prior therapy experience to join.

Some group members have been in therapy before; others haven’t. There’s no right way to participate — listening counts, sharing counts, and taking your time counts too.

  • We’re committed to creating an affirming, anti-oppressive space that welcomes LGBTQIA+ folks, nonbinary folks, and BIPOC community members.

We also recognize that caregiving looks different across cultures, identities, and family structures, and we aim to hold space for that complexity with care and respect.

We offer a limited number of reduced-fee spots, and we’ve chosen to meet virtually to increase accessibility — we know you’re holding a lot and it can feel hard even to carve out this time for you.

If you have specific needs or concerns, reach out. We want to make this a place where you feel safe and welcome.

If you’re wondering what being in the group actually feels like, that’s where an info session can help!
