LGBTQ+ Couples Therapy in Highland Park, Los Angeles
Affirming therapy for queer relationships—without having to educate your therapist first.
Welcoming queer, trans, nonbinary, gay, lesbian, bisexual, polyamorous, CNM, and expansive partnerships.
You deserve support that starts where you are.
Too often, couples therapy means educating your therapist about your identities, explaining the realities of queer relationships, or trying to make traditional relationship advice fit a relationship that isn’t designed around heteronormative expectations.
That's exhausting, and it's not what support should feel like.
At Kindman & Company, our LGBTQ+ couples therapists help Los Angeles partners focus on what actually brings you to therapy—not on explaining who you are.
Whether you're navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, exploring non-monogamy, life transitions, or simply wanting a stronger connection, we'll help you create a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and authentically yours.
You may be finding yourselves:
• stuck in the same arguments and communication patterns
• rebuilding trust after hurt, betrayal, or rupture
• navigating a gender transition, coming out, or identity shifts within your relationship
• exploring polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, or relationship agreements
• struggling with intimacy, sex, or emotional connection
• carrying the impact of family rejection, minority stress, or systemic oppression
• or simply wanting a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and fulfilling
We're here to help.
We hold space for the full complexity of your partnership with care, respect, and real understanding. Our queer-affirming therapists help couples build deeper connection, stronger communication, greater authenticity, and relationships that feel secure, resilient, and fulfilling.
A free 15-minute call to help you find the right therapist for your partnership. No pressure, no commitment.

AMFT, APCCLGBTQ+ relationship Therapy That Understands the Full Context of Your partnership
Queer relationships don't exist in a vacuum. Family dynamics, identity exploration, minority stress, community expectations, religious experiences, and systemic oppression can all shape how partners connect, communicate, and navigate challenges together.
That's why LGBTQ+ couples therapy isn't just about resolving conflict. It's about understanding the larger context your relationship exists within and building a partnership that feels secure, connected, and sustainable over time. We’re here to help you stay in it together for the long haul.
Whether you've been together for six months or sixteen years, therapy can help you move through challenges with greater understanding, compassion, and intention.
We help queer couples navigate:
Communication breakdowns and recurring arguments
Rebuilding trust after hurt, betrayal, or rupture
Feeling disconnected, stuck, or lonely within your relationship
Intimacy, sex, and emotional connection
Gender transitions and identity changes within relationships
Polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and relationship agreements
Interracial and intercultural differences
Family rejection, cultural pressures, and minority stress
Different needs around visibility, coming out, or community
Life transitions, commitment decisions, and future planning
Generally deepening intimacy and cultivating more enjoyment and relationship security
Our goal isn't to make your relationship look a certain way. It's to help you create a relationship that feels aligned, authentic, deeply supportive, and designed around what works for you.
Whatever you're navigating, you don't have to figure it out alone.
We'll help you move toward a relationship that feels more connected, secure, and fulfilling.
What Makes LGBTQ+ Couples Therapy Here Different
Many couples come to therapy hoping to communicate better, stop having the same arguments, or feel more connected again.
While those goals matter, we also pay attention to the patterns underneath them: what happens when conflict arises, how each partner seeks closeness and safety, and what gets in the way of feeling truly seen, understood, and connected.
Our goal isn't to help you win arguments or communicate more perfectly. It's to help you build a relationship that feels safer, more honest, and more fulfilling for everyone in it. That's why our work goes beyond communication techniques or conflict resolution strategies alone.
Our approach to LGBTQ+ relationship therapy
Our work with LGBTQ+ couples, partners, and expansive relationships is informed by the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy® (PACT), a research-informed model that integrates attachment theory, neuroscience, and relationship science.
Rather than only talking about problems, we'll help you recognize relationship patterns & nervous system activation in real time and practice new ways of responding to one another with greater awareness, compassion, and connection.
Over time, many couples find that this work helps them strengthen trust, navigate conflict more effectively, and build a more secure and resilient partnership.
