individual therapy

Together we can work to understand the source of your distress and begin to see how it can actually help you to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.  Together we will consider your social and emotional environment and help you consider how forces of systemic oppression and exclusion may have worked to separate you from your authentic self and sense of true belonging. In our individual sessions we can help you build skills for managing “big” feelings, acquire tools for more effective and empathic communication, embrace authenticity, cultivate a thriving community for yourself, connect to purpose, and find lasting healing.

intimate relationship & couple therapy

We work with relationships at all stages, including early partnering, long term partners and marriages, alternative formations, and separations.  We support partners, families, and families-of-choice to deepen their intimacy, develop communication to better meet each others’ needs, establish helpful boundaries, and navigate impasses and betrayals.  We will help you to access more compassion in your relationship and come away with a deeper understanding of what each party needs to feel secure and have a more nourishing connection.

Relationship therapy can be with one therapist or with The Kindmans together in the form of co-therapy.  In co-therapy, both Kaitlin and Paul will meet with you and your partner(s) at the same time, creating a balanced configuration that aims to provide equality, build trust, and address many common concerns of relationship therapy.

group therapy

At Kindman & Co., we believe it’s essential that we have connection and feel that we belong. We are here to help you grow a thriving, nourishing community for yourself. One of the ways we do this is through group therapy. Our groups bolster connection, vulnerability, curiosity, and help to increase empathy and celebrate diversity. Groups are a great way to increase skills for managing big feelings, harnessing your relational strengths, and building intimacy with group members as well as in other relationships in your life.

therapy for trauma & ptsd

Unprocessed trauma lives inside of you. Whether you witnessed or experienced a traumatic event yesterday or as a toddler, your body and mind may be holding onto the effects of that event which often presents as an overactive nervous system response. Additionally, when our basic needs for care and love are consistently unmet, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, also called C-PTSD or relational trauma, can occur. This often, invisible form of trauma can have lifelong consequences and can deeply impact the intimacy and nourishment of our relationships. Healing trauma therapy supports your mind and body to begin to recover, so that you can regain your sense of ease, have more connection in your relationships, and find more joy from the world around you.

political stress & climate anxiety therapy

Did you know that over 2/3 of adults report that election cycles and the political climate are significant sources of stress in their lives? If you can relate, we can too. We know that more people are experiencing increased overwhelm and anxiety over the climate crisis and the future of our world which is bringing up existential dread, concerns around big life decisions like starting a family, having a sense of purpose and meaning, and more. Our team of therapists understands the complex difficulty of grappling with political stress and climate change anxiety and is here to help you build tools for more stability and to identify actions you can take to feel more in control.

telehealth online therapy sessions

We know that many of our clients are busy and getting away from their daily schedule (not to mention struggling through L.A. traffic) to visit our office may not always be a stress-reducing option. That’s why we’re happy to offer telehealth therapy sessions through a secure, online, video conferencing platform. You can sit down and chat with one of us face to face, and you never have to leave the comfort of your home or office.

clinical supervision & private practice business consultation

We know that therapists are human first—this means that we need help and support like everybody else! We are passionate about helping therapists become more confident and comfortable in their work and build supports for healthy boundary setting and self-care. As relational therapists with a social-justice orientation, we support therapists to more fully embrace their humanity, create sustainability, and incorporate an inclusive, anti-oppressive stance into all facets of their practice.

We didn’t go to school to be business owners, right? Our supervision and consultation services can help you feel the most emotional reward from your work while also building practice systems that support you best. We work with associate-level clinicians in supervision and solo and group practice owners for business consultation.

psychotherapy workshops & retreats

We know that humans are very busy and not everyone is interested or ready to start therapy. We are excited to provide a diverse variety of opportunities to engage with our relational, social justice informed, and embodied approach, in addition to our therapy services. Workshops and retreats help us share our knowledge through lower-commitment offerings and engage more directly with our local community and fellow therapists/helping professionals! These events also give you the chance to get to know our team members better too. If you have been wanting to learn more about relational, feminist therapy; embodiment-based therapy practices; or are just seeking more places to engage in self care and personal growth, our workshops and retreats might be the right fit for you!

let's begin.

You are not in this alone. You were never meant to be. Each and every one of us innately possesses strengths to live more enriching, joyful lives; let us help you to (re) connect to your strengths to find well-being.
