Join us on Sunday, January 28th at 1pm for this fantastic invitation to connect with yourself, your body, and others! This workshop is especially exciting because we have facilitators from three, local, trauma-informed organizations who will be working together to support you.

reconnect: inviting embodiment together is for you, if you:

  • may not be feeling “in” or connected to your body after moving through the holiday season or found it difficult to move through the holidays while staying connected to yourself

  • feel you have had little agency and/or difficulty making choices for yourself

  • feel disembodied and may have difficulty connecting with your body in a neutral manner

  • notice frequently talking to yourself or about your body with harsh, self-critical, judgmental language

  • have felt hurt, pain, hate, shame, and worry in relationship to your body or have experienced physical, sexual, emotional, or religious trauma that may feel “stuck” in your body and nervous system

  • have few spaces where you can explore your relationship to your self and your body within community and with like-minded people

  • have internalized narratives about how your body should look and function, stemming from fatphobia, ableism, racism, genderism, sexism, etc.

  • find yourself frequently feeling disconnected from your body or regularly unaware of any sensations or activation in your body

  • tend to privilege the information that your mind and thoughts give you over the cues and knowledge that your body may hold

  • have felt like few other people can fully understand the difficulties and challenges that you experience with your body, leading to more shame and isolation


(re)connect with your embodied wisdom

build a more nourishing relationship with your body through gentle movement & emotion processing and feel more confident trusting your body’s cues.

this workshop will help you:

  • feel more connected to yourself and others after the holiday season

  • help you cultivate an increased sense of agency & begin to make more choices for yourself

  • experience deeper grounding to help feel more solid and easeful in your life

  • begin to build a more neutral way within your body and a non-judgmental relationship to your body

  • be able to engage with your body more confidently and on your own terms

  • feel the invitation to inhabit your body in a new way (if you want to or not!)

  • Begin to tune into and value sensations and cues from your body as essential wisdom about your relationships, your needs, your emotions & yourself

  • Lovingly embrace your body in a softer and gentler way

  • Find acceptance and connection from a group of sensitive people, just like YOU

  • Experience a collective and communal space where all choices and ways of being are welcome to help feel acceptance and increase connection with others, just like YOU


Reconnect: Inviting Embodiment Together will be offered Sunday, January 28th at 1pm and run for approximately 3 hours. The workshop is co-facilitated by Kindman & Co.’s Caitlin Harrison, AMFT, Cait Ference Saunders of Move with Cait, & Gaby Teresa, LMFT of Raíces Therapy. All facilitators possess experience and training with trauma-sensitive embodiment practices; emotion processing skills; and an understanding of intersectionality, privilege, and oppression; to help you explore your body and emotions at your own pace and with a focus on attuning to your embodied needs and boundaries.

Reconnect: Inviting Embodiment Together has a one-time registration fee of $89 for attendees. There are a few reduced fee spaces available for a one-time registration fee of $35. Please only register at the reduced fee level if you self-identify as a person who has been directly impacted by systemic racism or self-identify as holding one or more marginalized identities, and that paying the full fee would create financial hardship.

who should attend this workshop?

  • This workshop is primarily for adult (25ish+) women, non-binary, genderqueer, & trans folks of all body presentations & abilities;

  • Who may have been impacted by trauma/high-control spaces, like in the case of religious trauma (this is not required)

  • All bodies are welcome; there will be extra support and care for those who self-identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, or have other marginalized identities and/or experience oppression. Note that the yoga we will practice is not your typical yoga! Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga focuses on creating shapes with bodies, not “poses,” and we will have chair offerings and other adjustments available to better accommodate body diversity

  • Folks who are able to attend an in-person workshop in Highland Park, Los Angeles

  • Folks who’ve felt disconnected from their bodies and want to begin to gently get to know their body again, on their terms.

This workshop has room for only 10 registrants in order to provide a trauma-sensitive, containing space that promotes a felt sense of security for all attendees. Please note that there is an alternative date of February 25, 2024 if weather and/or any other unforeseen circumstances create a need to postpone. If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you must do so by Sunday, January 21st by sending an email to hello@kindman.co for a full refund.
